An experienced CAD designer with a proven track record of management in the automotive and manufacturing industries. Engineering Manager for the Aftermarket division of Wolfrace Wheels. Designing new wheels and progressing the projects through to final testing and production. Responsible for process improvements through all departments i.e foundry, machine shop and painting, also designing the re-location of machines, site lay-outs etc. to improve overall plant efficiency.
1992 - 1993 Atlantic Plastics Limited
Toolroom Manager in charge of Design and Manufacture of plastic moulds for numerous mouldings in both thermoplastic and compression. As well as the moulds, parts were often machined and assembled and this required assembly jigs, drill and milling fixtures and final inspection gauges etc. During my time, the Company also achieved BS5750 Quality standard, working for companies such as Hoover, GEC, PHS, Plessey, Jaguar and various Water Boards
1990 - 1992 Precision Metal Products/Alloy Wheels International Limited
This was an internal transfer to a contract Toolroom in the post of Technical Manager. The Toolroom specialises in all types of moulds for O.E. suppliers, mainly in the automotive industry. My responsibilities included:- Running the Toolroom, and Design office on a day to day basis, preparing quotations, discussions with existing customers, Sales and Marketing to obtain new customers, costing and ensuring quality to BS5750. 1981 - 1990 Eurocast International Foundries / Alloy Wheels International Limited
Design Draughtsman eventually promoted to Technical Manager. The firm manufactured aluminium road wheels for Rover Group, Jaguar, Ford, Aston Martin and other major car companies. This entailed discussion of original design with stylists, preparing tooling drawings for casting, machining on CNC lathes and testing to very high standards. This was all performed with close liaison with the manufacturer's Engineers and Buyers.
